IKMIA Team Programs
Dakwah & Tarbiyah
It is the core program of our organization. The team conducts periodic activities such as Weekly Qur'an reading lecture, either for beginner and intermediate level, Weekly Telahalaqah, Monthly Silaturahim, Weekend or Holiday Retreat, Annual Shalat Eid, Eid Festive, Qurban and Halal Bihalal. Occasionally, the team invites knowledgeable resources or guest lecturers.
Youth
To provide solid Islamic foundation for the youth to become better Muslims for him/ herself and the communities. The department supports activities for other programs by sending IKMIA youth to activities such as lectures, charities or cultural events.
Fundraising
The team organized fundraising activities to support organization operation and collect donation to be distributed to local charities working jointly with the community service team. Through its creativity the team opened Ikmiashop where it displayed variety of Islamic theme items. The shop is currently offered exclusively for members and fans to purchase. The boutique sells Islamic fashion/ clothing, accessories and occasionally books as well.
Meal & Consumption
The team organized meals and consumptions during the entire IKMIA program activities. It is also another way to explore variety of Indonesian traditions through culinary experience. From time to time, the department also coordinate together with IKMIA fundraising team conducting food bazaar to generate operational fund for the organization.
Community Service
IKMIA understood that 'giving back' is crucial to strengthen the community. IKMIA members actively participate in charities in the local communities and local Mosques in Atlanta areas. Some examples of our activities are food drive, feed for the hunger, collecting extra canned food or clothing for donation.
Education
The team conducts Islamic based activity/ class for children ( ~5 to 12 years old) so parents can fully attend IKMIA program with ease. Children class usually conducted during the Monthly Silaturahim and Weekend or Holiday Retreat.
Cultural
Spreading Islamic teaching can be performed beyond the traditional lecture. A popular method is through cultural program and performance that embrace Islamic teaching. IKMIA members actively participate in cultural events organized by the Indonesian consulate/embassy or any other academic or cultural organizations. These performances typically in a form of Indonesian traditional dance or music/ qasidah.
